LaSalle County Busted Mugshots is a private reference service, not a government office. It cannot confirm custody, confirm a release, post bond, retrieve an official booking record, or change a jail or court file. The offices below are the proper sources for those answers.
Where LaSalle Records Are Held
LaSalle County Sheriff’s Office and LaSalle County Jail
707 E Etna Road
Ottawa, IL 61350
Sheriff main line: 815-433-2161
Sheriff records: 815-434-8379, records@lasallecountyil.gov
Jail: 815-434-8383
Jail FOIA: jailfoia@lasallecountyil.gov
Complex hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Use the Sheriff’s Office page or the LaSalle County Jail FOIA form for the county route. A written request under 5 ILCS 140/3 may receive a five-working-day extension. The published Sheriff Records examples make the first 50 pages of an incident report free, while the jail form does not publish a separate booking-photo fee. The form identifies the Illinois Attorney General Public Access Counselor at public.access@ilag.gov, 500 South 2nd Street, Springfield, IL 62706, fax 217-782-1396, for a review request filed within 60 calendar days of a denial.
For a city arrest, start with the police department that made the arrest. For county custody, use the jail. For a court outcome, use the Circuit Clerk. The state and federal contacts below cover different custody systems.
- Ottawa Police Department: 301 W Lafayette Street, Ottawa, IL 61350, 815-433-2131. Use the Ottawa Police FOIA form for an incident or arrest-record request.
- Peru Police Department: 2650 N Peoria Street, Peru, IL 61354, 815-223-2151, records@perupolice.org. Use the official Peru police FOIA form for the written-records route.
- Streator Police Department and City Clerk: Police contact is 204 S Bloomington Street, Streator, IL 61364, 815-672-3111. FOIA requests go to the City Clerk at the same address, 815-672-2517, through the official Streator FOIA form. Streator crosses the LaSalle and Livingston County line, so confirm the holding jail with the arresting agency.
- LaSalle County Circuit Clerk: The Criminal Division can be reached at 815-434-8271. Use the record-searches page for court records and dispositions. Criminal copy requests normally take one to two business days and may take up to five. The county’s expungement information lists a $120 filing fee per case, forms, and the Illinois Courts expungement and sealing forms cover record-clearing procedures. The LaSalle County Legal Self-Help Center is at 119 W Madison Street, Room 200, Ottawa, 815-433-8671, and provides legal information, forms, procedure information, and referrals, not legal advice.
- Illinois Department of Corrections: Use the official IDOC Individual in Custody Search for a person sentenced into state custody. IDOC is not the LaSalle County booking-photo system.
- Federal custody and pretrial cases: Search the Bureau of Prisons inmate locator for federal inmates. The U.S. Marshals Service custody page directs non-emergency prisoner questions to the detention facility or local federal-district office.
- Immigration detention: Use the ICE Online Detainee Locator. ICE’s Detention Reporting and Information Line is 1-888-351-4024. A county booking entry does not establish an immigration hold, and the ICE locator does not provide a county booking photo.
Illinois access and record-clearing rules also include 5 ILCS 160/4a and 20 ILCS 2630/5.2. A statute or locator explains a process, but only the responsible office can answer a case-specific question.
